Summary :
Flow through Open Channels is designed to serve as a textbook for undergraduate students of civil engineering. With its lucid treatment of complicated topics, it aims to impart a clear understanding of the concepts of open channel hydraulics.
Beginning with an introductory chapter that classifies the flow into various categories, the text goes on to describe in detail uniform flow, gradually varied flow, and rapidly varied flow. It then provides a comprehensive coverage of channel transitions, spatially varied flow, and unsteady flow. A brief description of important topics such as flow in mobile bed channels and pollutants transport in open channels is also included in the text.
